Toni Braxton is bankrupt and up to $50 million in the hole.
That's bad enough. Now she's also accused of wire fraud.
The singer allegedly wired $53,490 to her estranged husband, musician Keri Lewis, to save it from creditors. He received the money just before her bankruptcy filing.
Bankruptcy trustees are currently suing in order to recover the $53,490 sum, which they posit the star transferred in order to avoid having to use it to pay back creditors.
The duo separated in 2009 after 10 years of marriage. She filed for bankruptcy in 2010.
Two years ago, Braxton was allegedly somewhere between $10-50 million in the hole.
A rep for the "Unbreak My Heart" crooner, 45, denies any wrongdoing on her part:
"All payments made to Lewis prior to Toni's bankruptcy filing were appropriate transfers for reasonable and necessary personal and business expenses in course of business."
